Diagnosis

Sulphur Deficiency looks very similar to Magnesium deficiency but differs in a crucial respect: In Sulphur deficiency the younger leaves first exhibit yellowing at the edges and between veins whereas in magnesium deficiency it's the older leaves that are affected first.

Sulphur Decificiency Examples

In the example to the right, you can see the effect of progressively greater sulphur deficiency on Oil Seed Rape flowering plants. Click here for the similar-looking Magnesium deficiency in Oil Seed Rape.

Sugar Beet [Beta vulgaris]

There is yellowing at the edge of the leaf, particularly with the younger leaves first. Do not confuse with Magnesium deficiency in Sugar Beet.
