Course Aims Enable employees and employers to gain a legal and practical understanding of asbestos types, uses, identification of products and locations, surveys, management plans and what to do in the event of discovering asbestos containing materials.
Training ObjectivesBy the end of the course delegates should:
- Be aware of safety duties under the law.
- Identify the 3 main types of asbestos fibres and their risk to health.
- Have an understanding of the main properties, locations and uses of asbestos containing materials.
- Know how to identify asbestos containing materials.
- Know what to do if these materials are accidentally disturbed.
- Understand the need to follow site management plans for asbestos containing materials in their work place.
- Be able to read and understand an asbestos survey.
