Raw Materials & Straights

Sylvinite is a natural ore containing about 30% Na2O (20% Sodium) and 20% Potash.

It is often applied to sugar beet land, where animal manures have supplied phosphate. It can act as an alternative to Kainit, where soluble magnesium and sulphur are not required.

Applications of Sylvinite to grassland are also popular, where the product is known as "meadow salt".

Sylvinite should not be used on Potatoes, where the sodium content will cause crop damage.
