Raw Materials & Straights
Chilean Nitrate of Soda or sodium nitrate contains 16% nitrogen as nitrate all in its naturally occurring form [no ammonium or uriec nitrogen], 26% sodium and 0.25% boron and other trace elements.

Because it contains nitrogen only as nitrate, it is extremely fast-acting and used commonly for sugar beet, especially to revive late germinated crops or light-land crops, which have been damaged by soil-capping following rainfall.

New production methods that began in 1998 made the availability of a larger 2-4mm size and 1050 g/litre specific gravity product possible. At Bunn, we have seasonal offers on Chilean Nitrate of Soda and can incorporate this raw material into NPK blends.

Do not use this product on Sodium-hating crops like potatoes.
