Salt is often used to fertilise sugar beet on maineral soils. It contains 37.5% Na Sodium, 50% Na₂O by weight

A typical application rate would be 400 Kgs/ha Salt to provide 200 Kgs/ha of Na₂O.

An alternative way to fertiliser for sugar beet would be to substitute salt for Kainit, which also contains potash, magesium, sulphur & trace elements or sylvinite.
