Sulphate of Potash is a particular suitable potash source for irrigated or saline soils such as is found in glasshouses or under plastic tunnels.Sulphate of. Because the Chlorine in Muriate of Potash may be damaging to potatoes, sometimes Sulphate of Potash is recommended. Using Sulphate of Potash can also give higher dry matters, which makes it suitable for crisping varieties. EC-Fertiliser: Sulphate of Potash containing Sulphur
It is virtually chloride-free and has a very low salt index. It is particularly recommended for yield and quality improvements in chloride-sensitive crops, e.g. vegetables and fruit. K+S Sulphate of Potash is solely derived from naturally occurring salt deposits. Sulphate of Potash 'granular' is a concentrated potassium and sulphur fertiliser which is ideal for mechanised spreading and bulk-blending SOP is much more expensive than Muriate of Potash but its use in high value vegetable crops justifies its use.
