CAN is not as acidifying as ammonium nitrate or urea, but recently has become more expensive per kilogram of nutrient, which is resulting in a declining share of the UK market. The magnesium content makes it ideal for use on rented land where magnesium is applied little-and-often, as the crop requires it. When the magnesium content is taken into account, the product is a price-competitive alternative to ammounium nitrate or granular urea. At Bunn we can deliver CAN in bulk, so it may enjoy a further price advantage when compared to ammonium nitrate, and provide a reduction in packaging waste.
