Calcium Ammonium Nitrate typically contains 27.5% Nitrogen, half in the nitrogen in the ammonium form and half in the fast-acting nitrate form.

CAN is not as acidifying as Ammonium Nitrate or Urea, but recently has become much more expensive per kilogram of nutrient so has a declining share of the UK market.
