agriPhos Benefits

Potatoes have always responded well to plentiful soil reserves of phosphate. In recent years many trials have shown that as well as responding to soil available phosphate, potatoes respond well in terms of tuber numbers and evenness of size to an application of foliar phosphate at, or just after, tuber initiation.

Over twenty recent trials [including some by ADAS] with foliar phosphates have suggested that treated potatoes have:

Higher yields
More tubers per plant
Tubers of a more even size
Fewer smaller tubers
Other trials have suggested that the potatoes have:
A better skin finish
A reduced susceptibility to bruising.

Product Application Recommendations

Apply at 17.5 litres/ha [1½ gallons/ac] agriphos® dissolved in 300-400 litres/ha [18-36 gallons/ac] water.

Each 25 litre drum is sufficient to cover 1.43 hectares or 3½ acres.

Fill the sprayer tank one third full with clean water and begin to agitate. Add the required amount of bunnPhos® liquid and fill the sprayer to the required level. Continue to agitate.

For most varieties apply during tuber initiation, normally at the time that the plants meet in the rows. For those varieties that traditionally have had large tuber numbers, for instance Maris Piper, apply in the week following tuber initiation.

The application of bunnPhos® may co-incide with the first potato blight spray.

agriPhos® should be tested for Chemical compatibility prior to use.
