Waste Packaging Recycling

We take our commitment to the environment seriously and when you've finished with your bags, spray cans and containers, we'll collect and recycle them for you working in conjunction with Anglia Farmers The scheme will help you achieve compliance required by farm assurance and environmental schemes and provide you with documentary evidence that you have shown a Duty of Care regarding The Agricultural Waste Regulations which came into force on 15th May 2006.
What We can Recycle The scheme covers collection from farmers and growers of: - Chemical containers
- Fertiliser bags
- Potato and seed bags
- Net and stretch wrap
- Twine
- Crop cover
- Fleece and plastic sheeting
- Cardboard
Please note that we cannot recycle - Paper chemical sacks, for example blight spray sacks
- chemical container foils caps
How The Scheme Works- Anglia Farmers work with J & H Bunn to make the whole process easy and efficient for you.
- You will be contacted by J & H Bunn to arrange a meeting to discuss likely types and volumes of waste.
- A collection schedule will be mutually agreed and any questions about how to store your waste addressed.
| Key Facts- The scheme started in 1st June 2006
- The final cost per acre will be determined during the on-farm discussions
- 50% of your annual fee will be payable in June
- The remaining 50% will be payable in January
- Collections will be made twice yearly with further collections possible.
- This will be discussed during the on-farm meeting
- Members will receive “Duty of Care Waste Transfer Notices”, upon collection or delivery, in compliance with Environmental Agency Monitoring and Farm Assurance Schemes.
| The Requirements- Spray containers must be triple rinsed, have caps and foils removed and be drained of residual water. Caps / foils and cans should be separated and stored in a clean, dry area.
- Fertilizer bags to have inners / outer liners separated. No product residue to be left in bags.
- Black / white plastic crop cover / silage wraps to be separated prior to collection.
- Bale twine / net wrap to be stored separately.
