Bunns are pleased to announce an important sponsorship of the Henri Lloyd Falmouth Week 2010, 7 – 15 August the second largest sailing regatta in the UK.

The sponsorship coincides with the reintroduction of fertiliser importing and manufacture at Falmouth by Bunns after an interval of 15 years under the name "Bunn - Falmouth"

This year sees the incorporation of the hugely popular and competitive ‘South West Area IRC Championships’ sponsored by J & H Bunn, with up to five divisions racing windward/leeward and offshore courses in the one of the finest sailing amphitheatres in the world. Yachts will be brought to Falmouth from as far away as Ireland to take part in this prestigious event.

Bunns Managing Director David Harrod said "It's fitting that Bunns is celebrating the reopening of our facility in Falmouth with sponsorship of this important regatta.  Before the advent of steam, Bunns chartered sailing ships from Australia to bring grains to the UK and today, many years later, many of our staff enjoy sailing, some competitively.  We're looking forward to the IRC championships and to welcoming customers and suppliers to enjoy the spectacle."

Bunns is this country's largest independent fertiliser manufacturer with a history that goes back to 1816 in Norfolk suppling farmers and growers nationwide from a network of port-related facilities.  The reopening of the facility at Falmouth Docks means that customers throughout Cornwall and Devon can now benefit from the widest possible range of fertilisers to support the agricultural economy.
